Endodontic
surgery is performed when there is
persistant infection. The
endodontist opens the gum and removes the inflamed or infected tissue,
and the tip of the root. Then a filling is inserted to seal
the
root canal. Local anesthetic is used to make the procedure as
comfortable as possible.
